There is Always Something New at the Zoo

Time traveling again back to our time in Tennessee. We spent an afternoon at one of my favorite childhood places, the Knoxville Zoo. Growing up we went there pretty often. A tradition my family and extended family has is to take a picture on the tortoise. We are keeping that tradition alive. You can see our other tortoise pictures here and here

Cosette could not taker her eyes off the macaws.

The zoo offers camel rides but for a price I was not willing to pay. They were nice and let us pet the camel though. Cosette really enjoyed it. She was not afraid at all.

My favorite part about this zoo trip was seeing the otters. It was an absolutely beautiful day when we went and the otters were swimming playfully around in their exhibit. They keep swimming up to the glass where we were. Cosette loved it. She would duck down to see them swimming around in the water.

This otter was nice enough to pose for a photo with us. Thanks Mr. Otter!

We made a stop at the petting zoo and Cosette knew the drill. This time she picked up the animals hay and followed them around trying to get them to eat it. This giant goat below just wanted to lick her hands. I it is because she had been eating gold fish and the greedy goat liked the taste. I was a little nervous because the goat was licking Coco's hands pretty aggressively and kind of afraid it might accidentally bite her.

We saw a lot of other animals that day. These were just the highlights of this zoo trip. I guess to go along with the title of seeing something new at the zoo we did see a female komodo dragon. That was definitely something new.
