Welcome to the Doodle

The Dipsey Doodle deserves its own blog entry just because of its name. We stopped off at this southern culinary gem on our way to the Grand Ole Opry. Its located in Cookeville, Tennessee where my Daddy grew up and my sister Leslie goes to school. On the weekends is the best time to go after 4:30pm. That is because you can get all-you-can-eat fried catfish! I know that might not sound to appetizing to some, but fried catfish is a southern delight, and boy is it good! You get your hush puppies and coleslaw along with it and it is to die for. I went once with my family and have been talking it up to Lyndon for the longest time. So on this trip we absolutely had to make a stop at the Dipsey Doodle.

Here it is folks, the South's finest! Catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries. The menu has a bunch of different items as well so do not fret it you are not a fish person. You can still go to the Doodle and enjoy a tasty southern meal. Although, Lyndon who is not a huge fish person did try some of the catfish and was very very pleased and has been talking about how good it is since.

Cosette kept running up the chef and rubbing his belly. I wonder if she thought it was for good luck.

If you are ever driving through Tennessee you should make a pit stop in Cookeville and find the Dipsey Doodle. You will not be disappointed.
