Stree Fair and the Central Park Zoo

Our Stake's youth program sponsored a street fair as their fundraiser for their summer camps and activities this year. We went over to the East Side and partook in some of the events. There was a cookout with delicous hot dogs and hamburgers. I was a total pregnant lady and could not get enough. I will not tell you how many hot dogs I ate. This baby was liking them a lot!

Cosette decorated this beautiful cookie at one of the cookie decorating booths. She was especially excited about the mini oreo.

I got my hair braided. It worked out great that there was a hair braiding booth because I left the house that morning without doing my hair. I had no inspiration that morning.

The finished hair do.

Our next stop of the day was to the Central Park Zoo! We recently got a zoo pass that gets us into all the New York City zoos and the NYC aquarium. This was the first time we used it and we were pretty stoked about it. I love going to the zoo.

A picture of ducks for Coco.

A leaping leamur.

My favorite animal of the day were the snow monkeys!!! These monkeys are native to Japan. They live in the northern most part of the country which means it gets really cold. The coolest thing about them is that during the winter they will soak in the natural hot springs to keep warm. It is a bucket list thing of mine to see these monkeys in the wild. If I never get to this will count.

So excited to see the snow monkeys!

Cosette loved the penguins. They were her absolute favorite that day. We were lucky they have a penguin house because right when we went in it started pouring rain. Another good thing Cosette loved watching them because we were there until the rain stopped. There were all sorts of different kinds of penguins. There were some emperor penguins! One type would come right up to the glass and swim around if you put your finger on the glass. Cosette kept them busy by putting her fingers all over the glass trying to atttract a one.

The national bird of India, the Peacock.

Not really sure what this creature is. We were in the exotic bird house and all of a sudden this creature walked out of the brush. It caught me off guard. I will find out it is next time we visit the zoo.

Cosette's second favorite animal of the day were the sea lions. They were out swimming around and "barking". She loved it. She kept saying "bye bye" to them. She did not want to leave.

We wore her out. She always takes her baby and now dog with her where ever we go.
