The Last Thing on Our Summer Bucket List

We have been really luck this summer because we have pretty much been able to do all of the things on our summer to do list. Peach picking was the last thing on our summer bucket list and thanks to good friends, who let us borrow their car, we got to do it! We are kind of obsessed with going to pick-your-own farms. We went apples picking last fall (post here) and strawberry picking already this summer (post here). This time we went back to Barton Orchards which is our favorite pick-your-own farm. The prices are amazing! There were a lot of other produce in season available to pick other than peaches which made it even more exciting. We love fruit and veg, especially right off the tree.

Coco loved getting out and running around. She has the most adorable run. When we visit TN my Grandmother always talks about how Cosette has such an adorable run because it is so feminine.

Found a tomato. Not sure what to do with it.

This picture is a great example of team work.

Then she got tired.

Cosette helped us pick 15 lbs of peaches!

She would pick one then hand it to me to put in our bag. She is a great helper.

They had early apples ready to pick as well. We picked some paula reds. As you can see they were pretty good.

After peaches and apples we headed over to pick some raspberries and grapes! Yes, grapes! Not sure why that excited me so much. I guess I imagine grapes not being grown so close to home. Lyndon served his mission in Chile and there were a lot of vineyards in the areas that he served in down there. It brought him back to those days of getting fresh grapes and unfirmented wine from the farmers down there.

Husband picking raspberries. Cosette and I ate more than we picked. What can we say? They were too tasty to not eat and raspberries are our favorite.

They had emus!

They did not have any horses, but they did have a horse bench. That made this little girl happy to sit with the horses.

Llamas!

All aboard the pumpkin express!

All the farms we have gone to have the most fun play ground areas. This one had a train, boat, and castle. As a parent I really appreciate these playgrounds because I can sit and she can play. All I pretty much want to do at this point in my pregnancy is sit.

Here is a little video of me and Cosette on the Barton Orchard Choo-choo as well call it.

We went home with 15 lbs of peaches, 7 lbs of apples, and about 1 lb each of raspberries and grapes. We were pretty satisfied. We are already planning on going back later this fall to pick some more apples and pumpkins.

I keep saying that I am sad that summer is over but you know that means that fall is here! I am very happy about that.
xoxo.
