Our Little Girl

I have not done a Coco update in a long time. Now seems like a good time to do one since so much focus has been on Baby H. Things Cosette loves right now are: horses, Sleeping Beauty, the ABC game, carousels, cake, ice cream, and the color yellow.

Horses are her absolute favorite. She really enjoys seeing the horse drawn carriages in Central Park. She gets really excited to see the "horrie" which is what she calls horses. She has a bunch of plastic horses that she gallops around the apartment with. Horses are the star animal around our place. Sleeping Beauty is her favorite movie. She calls it "I know." It is adorable to watch her dance around with her "I know" doll and sing the songs from the movie. When she watches the movie she sings along to the songs as well. Pretty darn cute. Her favorite thing to do is play the ABC game. We have been teaching her the abc's this summer. We are proud to say that she has mastered them, mostly. W and some of the lower case letters are still giving her a little bit of trouble. The ABC game is a puzzle game where each letter has its own piece and has to be matched to a picture of something beginning with that letter (I hope that makes sense). Anyway, she asks to play it all the time. It has paid off because she can look at signs and tell you what the letters are in the sign. Carousels are still a favorite of hers. We go on them a lot. She loves to ride the horses. Cake and ice cream, well who does not love cake and ice cream? She is only human so she loves them, especially cake. I don't mean only cake, but anything with the word cake in it (like pancakes!). It's all cake to her. The color yellow is not necessarily her favorite color, but it is her favorite color to say. If you ask her what color something is she always says yellow, no matter what color it really is.

A lot of people have been asking how Cosette is doing since Baby Henry's arrival. She is doing as best as can be expected. Cosette has definitely not been neglected but she is no longer the only kid that we have to take care of and it has been a little hard on her.  She loves little squishy Henry. When we first came home she would ask to "hold it" (that is  how she referred to Henry, as an "it", haha). When Lyndon takes her to the park on their way home he say, "we are going home to Mommy and who else?" And Cosette will yell out "HENRY!" Apparently she yells it, which means she is enthusiastic about coming home to see Henry (and hopefully me). However, the excitement of having a new baby is a big change for everyone. She is a big sister now and has to share her time with baby H.

In her words she is "holding it". And proof that she does loves Henry.
I am happy to report there are more good days than bad ones. She is very sweet to him most of the time. There are those few times where she is not so sweet to him, but we are working on it.
