The October Wrap Up

October was kind of perfect. NYC weather was amazing and we were able to get outside and spend a lot of time in the beautiful sunshine. Henry has the best smile! I cannot get enough of it. But look at it. It is the best.
We got cronuts! October's flavor was pumpkin chai, and I really wanted to try it because of pumpkin. It was really good! I think it was my favorite so far. Oh man, that Dominique Ansel. He is a pastry artists. The photo on the top right is of one of the ice cream s'mores being made. A ball of vanilla ice cream encased in a giant marshmallow that is then toasted with a kitchen torch. The guy is a culinary genius.

Be jealous, it was that good.
We climb on scaffolding like suburban kids climb trees.
She is quite the adventurous child. There are very few things she needs help with anymore at the playground. And we go to a lot of different playgrounds. It is nice that she is becoming more independent. She is very social and finds kids to play with where ever we go. She used to go up and jump up and down or chase after other kids when she wanted to play with them, which was sometimes met with awkward responses from other kids. I taught her to ask kids when she wants to play with someone to ask them if they want to play with her, and that is getting a lot more positive results.
Totoro in the forest, it's natural habitat. And that sunset! NYC has it all.
We went to the Pumpkin float at the Harlem Meer in Central Park. It was pretty anticlimactic.
The lone lite up Jack O'lantern.

I'm glad the kid's Halloween costumes were made out of fleece because it meant that they stayed warm. Henry kept trying to get to the water. Daddy got a good work out chasing after him.
A little parade went by where we were standing. The kids got a kick out of the music.
Let Charlie Brown know, we are the Great Pumpkin, haha. Cosette has been singing a song called "once there was a pumpkin" that she learned at preschool. It is pretty adorable to hear her sing, and the best part is that she taught me the song! We sing it together a lot.
Fun time at the Blaze.
My favorite picture from our weekend in Sleepy Hollow. This is behind Washington Irving's house. I love H's face in this one.
We spend most afternoons hanging out at playgrounds by our place, usually meeting up with friends. We are trying to enjoy being outside as much as possible before the cold weather comes. These two love playing in the sand, but I am going to have to banish Henry from the sand . He has decided that it is his favorite snack at the playground. he used to only eat it when he was tired or hungry and that problem would be solved easily, but now he just likes to eat it. Babies.
Hanging out in the plaza by Daddy's building. Cosette saw some people doing some yoga poses and taking pictures with the mushroom and she decided that we needed to do some too. Here we are doing "yoga". Lots of hand sanitizer was used afterward.
Daddy is perfecting the art of sliding down stairwell banisters with the littles.

Now that October is over means that the big holidays are coming and the best time to be in the city. I am really looking forward to the city dressing up for the holidays!
