Meeting up for Lunch with Dad is kind of the Best

We met up with Daddy last week down at Union Square for a lunch date. Lunch dates are the best. We were down there for a destination playground and to check out the holiday market there. That one is my favorite in the city. It is just a fun area. You have Union Square with the Christmas market and then the Farmers Market was going on that day too. That Farmers Market it huge. It is fun to walk around and see what people are selling. There was  both that was selling handmade (spun?) yarn and also had animals pelts. We felt the animals pelts, super soft and I wish I could have had one, because baby it was cold outside and I could have used the extra layer.

We have been lucky that Lyndon's schedule is flexible enough that he can meet us out in the city during lunch. The kids get excited to see him come meet us. It is nice to have that extra set of hands during the day for just a little bit. It helps break up the monotony of the everyday routine and we always part ways with big smiles. Oh we love our Daddy!
She got her own crepe! And she ate it all! Now she is a crepe fanatic asking for them and getting excited when we do eat them. She has only had the savory kind. I can only imagine what will happen when she tries a sweet one.

We did not got to that pretzel stand, but they looked delicious! Lyndon got a gorgonzola walnut crepe. He is the best and let me try a bite and it was pretty incredible. The most interesting crepe either of us had. Along with the gorgonzola and walnuts, there were pears, arugula, a balsamic vinegar sauce. It was like a salad on a crepe. We are going to have to recreate it at home.

I am pretty sure the highlight of the outing was hitting up City Bakery and finally getting their hot chocolate. Really we should be calling it chocolate soup it was so thick. And the giant homemade marshmallow kind of made the experience unforgettable.  We had been haring about how great this hot chocolate was for years now and we finally tried it. It lived up it to all the hype. Lyndon prefers it to Max Brenner's Italian thick hot chocolate which says a lot. That man likes his rich drinking chocolates.
The kids introduction to the City Bakery hot chocolate.

Henry's reaction speaks for both of the kids. It was a hit! Let's met up there next week for lunch, okay Daddy?
