Valentine's Day Weekend

We had a nice three day Valentine's Day weekend with Lyndon due to President's Day. For Valentine's Day this year we went and saw Wicked on Broadway. It was our first Broadway experience! Serious New York moment for us, haha. After seeing it we were both said, "why have we waited so long to see one?". It was fantastic! I wish we could have seen it with the original cast, but it was still incredible. The performance of Defying Gravity brought me to tears. It was extremely moving. Lyndon said he was surprised how much he liked it. He wants to go see more, yay! Being a Wizard of Oz fan I could not help but love it. I read the book again a couple of months ago and the Broadway contradicts a lot of the book, but that's okay. I still appreciated it, and the story was really well done. Of course we decided to be on a picture hiatus that day, so here is one of the play bill.

Proof! I want to go again, like tomorrow.
Monday we had a family fun day. We went to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum for their Kid's Week. The Museum is housed on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier that fought in WWII, Vietnam, and the Cold War. And also as a NASA recovery vessel. We got to see a few of the things that it retrieved when it was being used by NASA. The Kid's Week activities were really fun. There were a lot of demonstrations and booths that had all sorts of information about flying and space. The kids really liked it. Science Bob's demonstration and seeing the birds of prey was the highlight of the trip. Cosette really enjoyed the Science Bob demonstration. She was a little nervous when he created a cloud that went into the audience, but quickly got over her worries and tried to run into it. It was fun stuff. Being on the Intrepid was pretty incredible as well. Cool fact: The Intrepid is as long as the Empire State Building is tall. There are several other space and aircraft that you can explore. Really fun place to visit.
Getting ready to go up, up, and away!

Touching the falcon. Henry has no fear.
The frozen Hudson. It's not been this cold in February for 81 years! It's the fourth coldest February since 1869.
When Lyndon was in school, the weekends were just another day because we got to spend a lot of time together since his school schedule was a lot more relaxed. Since he is working weekends have a little bit more meaning to them. We look forward to them, a lot. TGIF has meaning again!
