Sunday Night Concert

Sunday night we headed out to the Singapore Botanic Gardens to hear/support the U.S. 7th Fleet Band Orient Express. There is a U.S. Naval base on Singapore, and we have several church members who are here with the Navy. We met up with some friends and had such a fun evening. The Botanic Gardens holds free concerts pretty often, and this has been on my list of things to do, but Sundays are literally the day of rest in our house. Lyndon and I tag team getting naps in on the weekends. We hardly ever get out on Sundays other than church. I am so grateful that Lyndon was game for going, even though he was tired. It was a blast. I thought we were going to hear some good old American tunes, she's a grand old flag...., but surprised to hear top 40s hits. The band was really good, and so much fun. We were all moving and grooving and singing (me, badly). It was so fun!

Best attempt at a family selfie. You win some, you loose some. We always seem to be losing this battle.
Orient Express, thank you for the great show!
Bonzai!

Thanks Lyndon for the photo bomb.
He found his new best friend. He got to pet the dog, and was giggling he was so excited. Henry did the same thing when he was about the same age as Raphael. I think one day we will be getting a dog. Not any day soon though, knock on wood.

She is so lovely, and wanted to take pictures of all these flowers.
Being the sweetest boy, and giving his sister kisses.

Going in for Daddy's kiss.
There it is!

Cosette's face is cracking me up in this one.

This is when I fell in love with the drummer. And he is a natural. The band was awesome and let the kids come on after the show and bang around on the drums. They were so cool about it. The drummer said this was how he got into drumming, just by someone letting him bang around on them. So thank you!
I call this one "Birds in the Singapore sky". There is a hornbill nest in the gardens, which is located right behind where we were sitting, and I saw one of the hornbills flying to its nest! So exciting. These birds are not hornbills, btw.

Here is a movie I made complied of most of the instagram stories of the concert. Kind of not the best, but for all of my family who are not on insta, you can now enjoy the show with us. Looking forward to the next Sunday night concert. And just the next Sunday we get down to the Gardens, concert or not. This place is incredible.
