Camping at Norris Dam

Image
The last three years my parents have been taking the kids on a camping trip every summer when we visit. I finally came along this year, cause why not. It was a quick trip, but still a fun one.  We took a boat ride around the Norris Lake. I loved it when our guide said "now I am going to turn the air conditioning on," as he would speed the boat up. There was no air conditioning, haha. Our campsite was next to a playground and a volley ball net. There were several families camping around. Coco and I played our own version of volley ball with some of the other kids. The boys were all about helping Pa and Uncle David put up the tent. They both did some hammering. I think that is what Henry did most of the time, take the hammer and bang the ground with it.  We roasted hot dogs and s'mores for dinner (of course). Rapha would put his marshmallow in the fire then pull it out immediately saying it was done, haha. I was there for the chocolate.  We went on a night hike

Birthday Week!

Fitting that I end July (well start August) with a post about our three birthday celebrations. Cosette turned eight! And Rapha turned 4! My July babies are getting so big. I turned 31, and it's going to be fun, haha. So far I have enjoyed my first week as a 31 year old. We really partied it up this year. I kind of went crazy and just wanted to spoil the kids, so I did. They had the best birthdays. Mom win! Cosette wanted to go to the Bronx Zoo and do the camel rides, children's zoo, etc. All the extra fun stuff. And most importantly get dip'n dots. That was her birthday treat. We forgot the traditional birthday cake and decided to let the birthday person pick a treat/place to go to. It rained while we were at the zoo, and just about everything closed down. Lyndon found the only dip'n dot place that was opened and saved the day! Coco was so happy. We came home and opened presents. She was very happy because she got everything she wanted. A few favorites among them:
