Day's Off

We only have one more full week of school until we are out for summer! You think the kids would be done with all the breaks from school, but they're not. In the last couple of weeks, they have had three days off. We have taken the time to explore a little, and spend some one on one time together.

We visited Governors Island on our first day off. We met up with a bunch of friends, saw some art installations, played at a playground, and walked along the harbor. It was a beautiful day. The views from the island of Manhattan are amazing. We can see Daddy's office from there. We will call him up sometimes, and ask if he can see us waving to him. Taking the ferry over makes it even more exciting.

Day two only Cosette had off. We had a bit of a girls morning. We got manicures! His first time getting one. She picked out a dark blue and silver sparkles to put over top. She has saved her money for a while, and used it to buy a new book about dinosaurs. She is in a huge dinosaur phase. We got a legit New York slice of pizza for lunch.

Rapha got to join in our last girls morning/afternoon, and got to get ice cream with Cosette. The new ice cream shop that opened across the street from us serves regular, and vegan ice cream. Ice cream our whole family can enjoy. It is so nice.

Day three all three kids had off from school. We saw the Swedish Cottage production of Peter Pan. My favorite show I have seen there. We have reached a period in our family where the kids will sit through a whole show with out disturbing anyone. It is a production for children, which makes a difference. I was not able to sit with them and was a bit nervous about it, but they sat through the whole 45 minute show with out any problems. Yay! We stayed close to home, visited our favorite playground, and got ready for a couple of visitors!

Aunt Leslie, and Cousin Ruby arrived! We are excited to have them for the week. The kids have been asking everyday when they are coming. We are happy to have them here.
