Christmasy Stuff

It's the most wonderful time of the year in NYC. Christmas is hands down my favorite time to be in the City. I love how the city decks herself out in all sorts of holiday decorations. The tree vendors that pop up all over the sidewalks, making it smell like pine. The Salvation Army bell ringers who have turned into bell dancers. All the Christmas treats that every place has! It is incredible that none of us look like Santa Claus.

Yet I feel like I have done so little to enjoy everything that is going on this time of year. FOMO is so real. I felt like this last year, and vowed I was going to do more this year. We haven't. I have decided to focus on everything that we have done.

Christmas tree from our corner store tree vendor. Natural History Museum Origami Christmas tree. Columbus Circle holiday market. 5th Ave windows. Rockefeller Tree. Gingerbread houses. Family gift exchange. Santa at Macy's. Macy's Christmas windows. When I type it out it sounds a whole lot more.

We did a family gift exchange the night before we left for Tennessee. Earlier in the season we had gone out and chosen gifts for each other. Watching the kids excited faces was the best. They were so sweet and thanking each other for their gifts. Christmas magic right there.

Cosette participated in a musical theater class this term. The class gave a Christmas performance before the break. It was the cutest. They performed the Magical Feeling of Christmas. Each had a singing and speaking part. Henry especially liked watching Cosette's performance. He was dancing and cheering along.

Our annual Gingerbread house tradition. We were gifted a gingerbread village kit. The kids each got their own little section of the village to create.

Bergdorf Goodman windows with Serena!
Bergdorf Goodies with my boys.

Macy's windows were my favorite this year.

Henry killed it! He had a crowd watching him dance with the Salvation Army bell ringers.

Lyndon lugging our Christmas tree up to our apartment.

There she is! An eclectic assortment of ornaments. It suits us.

Christmas tree at the Anthorpe.

Natural History Museum Tree, my favorite in the city.

A few of my lovely cousins came to visit. We grew up together, and it was so much fun to reconnect after years apart.

New friends at the North Pole on our way to see Santa at Macy's.

I love watching their reactions when they see him. It is a magical time of year and life.

And one more of us and Santa to close this Christmasy season.
