It's Christmas Time!

We are in the middle of december and Christmas is only 14 days away! How did that happen? Where has this year gone? I have said this many times, but I will say it again, Christmas time is the best time to be in the city! Talk about getting in the Christmas Spirit. I think it is impossible not to here. The decoration, the events, holiday markets, windows on 5th Ave, all the tree lights. The City is a magical Christmasland. I have not done a great job of getting us out to all the activities yet, but we are making our way through the list. We did make a trip down to Macy's with some friends to meet the big man himself. Visiting Santa there has become one of our favorite traditions. Macy's really does it up right at Christmas. The entire store is sparkling in Christmas decor and Santaland is enchanting. I look forward to taking the kids there every year.
Okay these elves, adorable!
Said "hi" to the Jack Frost leading the snowman choir. It's a wonderful way to be greeted once getting off the "Polar Express".
The train display was incredible! The kids could not keep their eyes off it. The tracks go round and around and around the entire tree and then through a village. And there are like three trains going at once. What an incredible sight for a child to see. One day we will have a train track around our Christmas tree.
We are here! Who cares about those other lands when you are at Santaland!
The Aflac ducks stuck in the snow was a new addition to the walk through Santaland. I thought it was pretty adorable.
The new Build-a-bear display. There is usually a bear Nutcracker going on that Cosette always tries to climb over the fence and take a bear, but this year they are having a forest animal get together.
It's Santa! I was surprised at Cosette's reaction to him. The past years she has not really had issue with Santa, but this year once we got to the door she was a little hesitant. She went up there though. Me going up with them was the only way to get them up there I think. They were great. No tears were shed and they look at the camera. Before we got to Santa I asked her what she was going to ask Santa for Christmas and she said "a phone". Then "a computer" and I cannot remember what else, but it was funny because she was just naming things off in the living room. She has been asking for five kittens ever since we read Annie and the Wild Animals (great book by the way!) . So we have been hearing about that for a couple months. Sorry Cosette, there is no way in the world Santa is bringing you five kittens, especially in this apartment. There a lot of Santas around the city that we will hopefully make it to before the season is over. Merry Christmas to you!
